Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a midfielder, signed a one-year loan deal with Marseille after leaving Spurs. Last season, Hojbjerg made 39 appearances, but only 10 of those were starts as Ange Postecoglou began to favor Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr more and more.
The 28-year-old has a responsibility to buy the team for £17 million as part of the terms of his initial loan arrangement to join Ligue 1.
Hojbjerg, a Denmark international, played 184 games for Spurs after joining from Southampton in August 2020.
Only ten of the midfielder’s 39 games during the previous season were starts, as Ange Postecoglou began to favor Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr more and more.
Hojbjerg, who is now Marseille’s fifth acquisition, has begun the last year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
