Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has left Trevoh Chalobah out of his team for the US preseason vacation.
Chalobah, according to Maresca, is surplus to needs at Stamford Bridge.
Despite taking part in pre-season training at Cobham this month, the defender is anticipated to look for a permanent move away this summer.
Maresca believes Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, and new recruit Tosin Adarabioyo provide talent and squad depth as right-sided centre-backs.
He plans to spend the pre-season looking more closely at highly rated Cobham prospect Josh Acheampong as a right-back alternative to club captain Reece James and Malo Gusto.
On the final day of the transfer window last summer, Chalobah rejected down a £25 million deal from Nottingham Forest.
