Randy Waldrum, the head coach of the Super Falcons, claims that his team has advanced significantly since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Waldrum’s team advanced to the World Cup Round of 16, winning convincingly against formidable opponents Canada, Australia, and England.
Since losing to the Three Lionesses of England in the second round, the Super Falcons have only suffered one defeat. The West Africans qualified for the Olympics by defeating their bitter rivals, South Africa.
In the Paris group stage, they will compete against Brazil, Spain, and Japan. According to Waldrum, his team is prepared for the challenge at hand.
“I like what I have been seeing. We had a good time in Spain and since we arrived in France, it’s been fantastic and wonderful,” Waldrum told reporters.
“The players are ready to go. We are in better condition than we were a year ago.
“The team has continued to improve since the World Cup. Hopefully, we will see that when we face Brazil, a very good side.”
