Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana of the Blues have been praised by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca after his team’s friendly 2-2 draw with Wrexham at the Levi’s Stadium on Wednesday.
Lavia and Fofona both made their much-anticipated comebacks to the field during the match against Wrexham.
Due to hamstring and ankle injuries, the first player missed 43 games in all competitions during their injury-plagued 2023–24 campaign.
Maresca stated the following at his press conference following the game (via Football London):
“Both are very important. It is important for them to get minutes. I’m happy for them. For one year without Wesley having any minutes.
“45 minutes for both is going to help them. Hopefully, we can have them both fit.”
