In their first Group C match at the 2024 Olympic Games, Brazil defeated Nigeria’s Super Falcons 1-0.
Early in the game, the Super Falcons had an advantage and created three scoring possibilities for the first twenty-five minutes.
Chiwendu Ihezuo’s strike from close range was stopped by Brazil’s Lorena goalkeeper.
Moreover, midfielder Christy Ucheibe was denied by Lorena with an incredible save from outside the area. Then, after an excellent cross from Toni Payne, Osinachi Ohale nodded over the bar. In the 33rd minute, Brazil’s captain Martha scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
Eight minutes prior to halftime, Gabi Nunes gave Brazil the lead.
