A young lady identified as Liliane Mugabekazi has been imprisoned for her indecent dress at a concert in Rwanda.
The 24-year-old Rwanda young lady was picked up by the police on August 7 after attending a concert wearing a sheer dress, and has been charged to court for indecent dressing.
The photo of the young lady, Liliane was reported to have attended the concert by a popular French musician, Tayc a few days ago. She however trended on social media after photos of her attire became the topic of discussion.
Busingye Johnston who is currently Rwanda’s ambassador to Britain in a tweet on his verified handle condemned Liliane’s mode of dressing, describing it as an objectionable act.
He wrote, “The current issue of our young men and women who drink and dr*g themselves unconscious, appear in public literally naked is objectionable.”
According to the Spokesman for the prosecution, Faustin Nkusi, Lilian has committed a serious crime for appearing “n@ked” in public, saying it was a “shameful dress”.
The 24-year-old lady was charged in court on Thursday. Reports had it that Liliane’s lawyer asked the court for the case to be heard on camera.
